Platinum Hydrovac and HDD: Leading by Example

Big Bore Hydrovac Services has rebranded but continues to provide industry-leading hydrovac and horizontal directional drilling services.

Edmonton, Alberta, April 2, 2018 — Big Bore Hydrovac Services has officially rebranded to become Platinum Hydrovac and HDD to create distinction from other vendors with similar names while establishing itself as a leading provider of hydrovac and HDD services throughout Western Canada. Though our name has changed, our commitment to excellence and the advancement of industry standards remains at the core of all our operations.

Platinum’s mission is to provide safe, clean, and efficient service while preventing site damage and minimizing risk to health and safety. We take pride in restoring all of our work sites to their initial condition or better regardless of the processes employed on the project. Through a culture of learning and leadership, we promote growth and opportunity that elevates the standards of our trade.

We are proud to service western Canada in hydrovac and horizontal directional drilling, including civil construction and shallow utilities. We have built a reputation as an industry leader in safety and customer satisfaction across all three western provinces, and we vow to maintain the high standards of performance, professionalism, and worksite culture that has earned our clients’ trust and business.

Platinum’s highly trained team members use the safest methods and advanced technologies in our hydrovac processes. Hydrovac ensures safety for workers, environmental preservation, and the protection of valuable wires, conduits, and pipelines on worksites. All our trucks all feature on board water heaters for easy excavation of frozen ground and thawing of frozen ducts and conduits, in addition to plastic dig tubes, which prevent electrical shock and lower the risk of worksite injuries.

Directional drilling is the preferred method of installation for communications, gas, power, water, and pipelines because of its safety, cost-efficiency, and minimal environmental disturbance. With industry-leading equipment and highly trained staff, Platinum drills where others can’t. Our support vehicles can even provide hot water to aid the drilling process during winter months. We use the DigiTrak® F5® Directional Drilling Location System to provide clients with precise bore path print outs, reports, and asbuilts we can use to maximize onsite safety and accurately predict costs and timelines.
