Chemco is seeking experienced Fibre Optic Splicers to support FTTH construction projects throughout eastern Manitoba, including the Powerview-Pine Falls, Point du Bois, Bissett, Lac du Bonnet, and Alexander areas.
In this role, Splicers will perform fibre splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for mainline, distribution, and residential FTTH infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
- Splice fibre optic cables, terminals, splitters, and closures
- Perform OTDR and power meter testing
- Troubleshoot and repair fibre optic facilities
- Read fibre splice plans and construction drawings
- Complete required splice and test documentation
- Maintain splicing equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Drive to and from various project locations
- Work independently and coordinate with construction crews
- Follow company and client safety requirements
What We’re Looking for
- Previous fibre optic splicing experience
- Experience with FTTH networks considered an asset
- Experience with OTDR testing and fibre troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret fibre splice plans
- Valid driver’s licence
- Available to work out of town
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Current CSTS and WHMIS certifications, or willingness to obtain/renew prior to mobilization

- Job Type: Full-time seasonal work.
- Schedule: Weekend and night work may be required during the build season.
- Compensation: Pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and project requirements.
Travel within the listed project areas will be required; candidates must be comfortable working away from home as project needs require.
