How to use above charts |
|
This information is to be read with the diagram on page 7 of
Superflex catalogue. |

1. Please note that the above charts are only a suggestion and local
driving conditions, etc should be considered when making the proper
selection of Chemco
radial patches. Determine the cross section of the injured
tire in order to read off the patch selection. The length of a
repair is determined by its corresponding width. As the width
increases, the length decreases. This chart also provides
information outlining the maximum dimensions of a repairable injury. |

2. In a conventional sectional repair, select a repair unit
depending on whether the injury is on crown or |
|
sidewall for each tire cross section. Patches must be positioned to
end in the non-flexing areas. Crown sidewall for each tire cross

Crown beyond the edge of the injury by the minimum distance

patches must not extend beyond the belt edge into the sidewall flex
region. However, it must extend |

possible, a sidewall patch must be used. The sidewall patch
should extend from the bead to the center of the crown area. It
is recommended that the patch be placed to end 3/8" to 11/2" (10mm
to 38mm) above the bead. The sidewall patch must extend beyond the
edge of the injury by minimum distance M.
In a Shoulder or lower sidewall repair, the patch must be
placed to meet the minimum distance M. |

3. Radial patches are designated according to Length
and Width
dimensions. For example SFUX 269
means the patch length is 26 inch and the width is 9 inch. Thus: |
